62.3% is the real number. The record was started on 12 September 2026 with identity fields only and reached this on its first full research pass. Publishing the figure while it is uncomfortable is the only way it means anything later.

The three things most likely to mislead you

Completeness is the least interesting measure of a record like this. These are the places where what we hold is thinner than a filled cell suggests, and each one is stated on the page it affects rather than only here.

Who runs each boat

Most vessels name an operator. The ones that do not are not all the same kind of gap, so we say which rather than printing one word over all of them.

Sourced means the fact carries the URL it came from. Archived means we also hold a timestamped copy of that page, so the claim survives the page changing. Group E, our own judgement, is not counted here because it is not a fact and has no source.

The vessel itself, 365 daysCabins and refit years only change on a refit, but a stale one is worse than a missing one.

Past its shelf life a value does not disappear. It keeps its value, it says when it was last verified, and it stops being sortable. A stale number quietly sitting in a sorted column is how a reference becomes a liability.

What is deliberately not here

Sonesta luxury tier is excluded from the comparison. Sonesta's Nile fleet spans mass-market and premium. The tier line cannot be drawn from desk research, and the mass-market end is the boundary this site does not cross. Excluded on the inclusion rule, not on quality. Evidence that would change it: Sonesta continuing to appear on luxury prompts in the monthly AI re-runs.

MS Terramar is not in the comparison and appears only where we track announced vessels. Announced and unverified. It appears in the launch tracker until it sails, which claims nothing about it.

Inclusion is the only real editorial power a list like this has. An operator left out with no reason given will assume the exclusion was bought, so the rule and the exceptions are published. Nobody has ever paid to be added here or removed from here, and nobody will.
