Nile Seray

Announced, not yet sailing. Operated by A&K Sanctuary (Abercrombie & Kent).

Not verified as sailing  checked 12 Sep 2026

We have not confirmed that this vessel is currently in service. That is a statement about our checking, not a claim that it has stopped.

Our view

Nile Seray is the best documented of the announced vessels in this collection by a wide margin, with a full rate table, a deck count, a lift and a published accessibility line. We give it no comfort rating because nobody has sailed on it, and a rating on an empty hull would be a guess. Watch the 1 November 2026 date in A&K's own rate table, because it is the firmest evidence anyone has published about when this ship starts work.

Who it suits

  • Travellers who want a brand new ship with a rate card they can read before enquiring
  • Guests who need a lift, A&K's own guide lists one
  • Anyone who wants the private Tutankhamun and Amenhotep III openings

Who it does not suit

  • Anyone who needs the ship to have carried guests already, it has not and A&K's own rate table prices nothing before 1 November 2026
  • Families, A&K's web page says children from six and its own PDF guide says ten, and nobody has reconciled them
  • Wheelchair users, the lift is listed as Yes and the access is listed as Limited and A&K explains neither
  • Anyone who needs a departure day, no weekly pattern is published for any boat in this fleet
Service style
Announced all suite riverboat from A&K with a published rate table, a lift and private tomb openings written into the itinerary, not yet in service.
Nearest alternative: Sanctuary Sun Boat IV
The same operator and the same inclusions on a ship that is sailing now. Sun Boat IV is a 1996 hull with 76 guests and cabins. Nile Seray is the newbuild with 64 guests, all of them in suites, and a lift. See its record →
Everything in this box is opinion, not a sourced fact, and we say what it rests on: desk research only, by Christoph Paterok, 12 September 2026. Nobody here has sailed this vessel. Read it as a careful reading of the published record, which is what it is.
Published rate
$781 per person, per night
Up to $4,110, per person, per night.

Shown in the currency the operator published it in, on the basis the operator sells it on. We do not convert currencies and we do not divide a package total into a nightly rate, because both would produce a number nobody quoted. See how this compares on the rates page.

Minimum age
A&K states a minimum age and a sharing rule, but the two A&K sources disagree on the minimum. The vessel page says Nile Seray welcomes children aged 6 years and up. The riverboat guide PDF says children aged 10 years and up. Both say children aged 15 and younger must share a cabin with at least one adult.

What we could not establish

Every empty cell above has a reason. These are the reasons for this vessel, written down at the time the record was made, including the places where published sources contradict each other.

The flag and registration, the refit year, the charter rate, the charter minimum, and the departure days are all empty because no source we read gives any of those details.

A&K publishes a staff-to-guest ratio of 1.5 to 1 for 64 guests, which implies roughly 96 crew, but that figure is arithmetic applied to a marketing ratio, not a published crew count, so we have left the crew count empty.

No fixed weekly departure pattern is published for the A&K Egypt fleet, and there is no live calendar, so the departure days are empty.

The operating status could not be confirmed. The vessel has not entered service. A&K's own rate table prices nothing before 1 November 2026, which is the strongest evidence that service begins in November 2026. A&K's other published material refers to October 2026 in some places, creating a conflict that the rate table alone does not resolve. We did not find an enum value that covers a ship still fitting out, so the operating status remains unverified.

A&K's two published documents disagree on the minimum age policy: the web page states 6, the PDF guide states 10. We did not find a third source that resolves the contradiction.

Recorded 12 September 2026. If you can settle any of these, tell us and we will correct the record in public.

Something here wrong? Say so and we will correct it in public, with the old value left visible. See the corrections log.
