Adelaïde

Dahabiya. Operated by Nour El Nil.

Sailing, one source  checked 12 Sep 2026

One source says this vessel is sailing and we have not found a second. We never infer that a boat is in service from the absence of news about it.

Our view

high comfort

Adelaide sits in the newer half of the Nour El Nil fleet without being the most expensive part of it. The Deluxe Suites are the real reason to choose her, and the 24 guest capacity is the real reason not to if you came for quiet. We have not sailed her, and the independent record on this hull is thin enough that the operator's own calendar is better evidence than any review you will find.

Who it suits

  • Couples who want quiet
  • Travellers who want the guide and the entrance fees included
  • Anyone who wants a Deluxe Suite on a sailing boat
  • Groups of up to 24 taking the whole boat

Who it does not suit

  • Wheelchair users and anyone who cannot manage stairs, there is no lift on any boat in this fleet
  • Anyone who came for solitude, 24 guests makes this one of the fuller boats in the fleet
  • Travellers who want a pool or a spa, there is neither and swimming is in the river
  • Anyone who needs a fixed weekly departure day, the operator publishes dated calendar entries and no pattern for this boat
  • Guests who read independent reviews before booking, almost none name Adelaide
Service style
Family run crewed sailing boat on a fixed five night Esna to Aswan route, with one Egyptologist guide for the whole boat.
The cabin we would book
A Deluxe Suite, because only four boats in this fleet have them and it is the one thing Adelaide offers that Agatha does not at the same starting price.
Nearest alternative: Agatha
Both are 2020 hulls in the same fleet on the same route and both start at 5,300 euros per room. Adelaide takes 24 guests and has Deluxe Suites, Agatha takes 20 and does not. See its record →
Everything in this box is opinion, not a sourced fact, and we say what it rests on: desk research only, by Christoph Paterok, 12 September 2026. Nobody here has sailed this vessel. Read it as a careful reading of the published record, which is what it is.
Published rate
€5,300 per cabin, whole cruise

Shown in the currency the operator published it in, on the basis the operator sells it on. We do not convert currencies and we do not divide a package total into a nightly rate, because both would produce a number nobody quoted. See how this compares on the rates page.

Notable history
Adelaïde was built for Nour El Nil and entered service around 2020. Trade listings from that period describe her as the second largest boat in the fleet, with two panoramic suites and ten luxury rooms. The operator now sells her as two panoramic suites, two deluxe suites and six luxury rooms, which points to rooms being paired into the larger suites rather than a change of hull. Deluxe suites exist on only four boats in this fleet. She has since been overtaken in size by later builds.

What we could not establish

Every empty cell above has a reason. These are the reasons for this vessel, written down at the time the record was made, including the places where published sources contradict each other.

No second independent source confirms Adelaïde is currently sailing. The only current evidence is the operator's own live calendar, which returned two priced five-night departures for her on 12 September 2026. Recent third-party reviews name other boats in the fleet, not Adelaïde.

Cabin count is the main open contradiction. The operator sells ten units, third-party listings say twelve rooms, and the published cabin areas suggest both are describing the same hull. Build year is 2019 or 2020 depending on which third-party page is consulted, and the operator publishes no figure.

No source we read gives a refit year, a crew count for this vessel, a flag or registration, details of a pool, accessibility information, a minimum age policy, charter terms, or a charter rate.

The operator publishes no weekly departure pattern, only dated calendar entries, so no departure days can be stated.

Two operator pages disagree on beam: 8.5 m on the vessel page against 8 m on the fleet index. For that reason beam is not recorded here.

The operator's FAQ page returns an access error to automated retrieval, so the answers given there on wi-fi, air conditioning and single-occupancy supplements could not be read at source.

Recorded 12 September 2026. If you can settle any of these, tell us and we will correct the record in public.

Press

Written by Alison Abbott from aboard Adelaïde, this is the only long-form press account found from a journalist who sailed the vessel. It is used as the source for deck count, passenger capacity, wifi and air conditioning details.

Guest reviews

Brooke Beyond 05 Jun 2026
Travelled May 2026 aboard Poppee. Mentions Adelaïde on price per square metre. Used as the source for the motorless, tug-towed detail and for the wifi reliability note.
