AmaCleo
Announced, not yet sailing. Operated by AmaWaterways.
Not verified as sailing checked 12 Sep 2026
We have not confirmed that this vessel is currently in service. That is a statement about our checking, not a claim that it has stopped.
Our view
There is no ship here yet and there is no date for one. Two trade reports a few months apart give two different years and AmaWaterways has published neither, which is the finding rather than a gap in our research. If you want this product now, AmaLilia is sailing it.
Who it suits
- Advisors tracking incoming Nile capacity
- Travellers willing to wait for a brand new ship on a programme that already exists
Who it does not suit
- Anyone who needs a date, the trade said 2028 in April 2026 and fall 2027 in August 2026 and AmaWaterways has said nothing at all
- Travellers booking on the price shown on the ship page, that is the shared itinerary price and not an AmaCleo fare
- Anyone who wants this ship specifically, the operator's own Egypt landing page does not list it
- Service style
- Announced AmaWaterways newbuild for the same eleven night Cairo round trip the line already runs on three hulls.
- Nearest alternative: AmaLilia
- AmaLilia is the same specification on the same itinerary and it is in service now. AmaCleo has no launch date from the operator and nothing about it can be verified against a hull in the water. See its record →

What we could not establish
Every empty cell above has a reason. These are the reasons for this vessel, written down at the time the record was made, including the places where published sources contradict each other.
The launch date is unconfirmed. AmaWaterways publishes no launch date on the AmaCleo ship page, on the Egypt landing page, or on the itinerary page. The Egypt landing page does not list AmaCleo at all. Trade press from April 2026 gives 2028; trade press from August 2026 gives autumn 2027. Both figures are secondhand. No year is published here until the operator states one.
The flag, registration, and propulsion are not published anywhere, as would be expected for a ship not yet in service. Propulsion was not assumed. No refit year applies.
The ship page carries no wheelchair, lift, or mobility wording. A search of the EU FAQ page returned only navigation results. There is nothing on accessibility to attribute.
The minimum age policy, charter availability, and charter minimum are not published on any page we read.
The operating season and departure days could not be confirmed for AmaCleo. The only dates published by the operator, September to November 2026, belong to the other three ships in the Egypt fleet, not to AmaCleo. The operator publishes no fixed weekly departure pattern, and the 2026 dates fall on mixed weekdays.
No upper rate was found.
The starting rate is also left empty. The only figure we found is a from price of EUR 6,234 per person shown on the AmaCleo ship page. That figure covers an 11-night package that mixes hotel nights and cruise nights, and it is not specific to AmaCleo as a hull. Because the number of cruise nights within the package is ambiguous, no nightly rate was calculated.
All prices here are in euros. The amawaterways.com domain serves the EU storefront, and the /us/ path returns a 404, so no USD rate was verified.
