Lazuli Luxor
Dahabiya. Operated by Lazuli, though we have not verified that ownership from a primary source.
Not verified as sailing checked 12 Sep 2026
We have not confirmed that this vessel is currently in service. That is a statement about our checking, not a claim that it has stopped.
Our view
The smallest boat in a fleet that does not publish a page for it, at a rate an aggregator sets rather than the operator. Ten guests on a dahabiya is a genuinely appealing size and that is the argument for it. Everything else about this record rests on third parties, including whether the boat is currently working.
Who it suits
- Couples and small groups who want a boat carrying ten rather than twenty
- Travellers who want a low per person rate on a short sailing
- Anyone considering the summer months, the operator runs a May to September programme
Who it does not suit
- Anyone who wants to read about the boat, it is named once in a homepage fleet list and not at all on the operator's English site
- Travellers who need to know whether it sails or is towed, two sources call it twin masted and neither says which
- Anyone who needs current evidence that it operates, the status here is unverified
- Guests who want reliable fleet information, the operator's own pages give three different fleet sizes and an advisor gives a fourth
- Service style
- Small sailing boat for ten guests in a Cairo company's fleet, reaching the market through advisors and aggregators rather than through an operator page.
- The cabin we would book
- The single suite. Five cabins and one suite means there is exactly one room on board that is different from the others.
- Nearest alternative: Lazuli Karnak
- The same fleet at the same published rate. Luxor takes ten guests in five cabins and a suite. Karnak is twice the size at ten cabins and two suites. Neither is documented by the operator beyond a name in a list. See its record →
Shown in the currency the operator published it in, on the basis the operator sells it on. We do not convert currencies and we do not divide a package total into a nightly rate, because both would produce a number nobody quoted. See how this compares on the rates page.

What we could not establish
Every empty cell above has a reason. These are the reasons for this vessel, written down at the time the record was made, including the places where published sources contradict each other.
No source we read gives a flag, registration or hull identifier for this vessel. Ownership is unverified. The operator's legal notices name the company Lazuli with Egyptian trade registry 525740783, but no page ties that entity to this hull.
The operator does not appear to maintain a dedicated page for this vessel. It is named once, in a homepage fleet list on the French-language domain, and not at all on the English-language domain, which lists only Albatros. Fleet size is contradicted four ways across the operator's own pages: figures of 8, 9 and 11 appear on the French site, and 9 appears on the advisor page.
The advisor page states that Wally Aziz launched the fleet in 2001. That is a fleet date, not a launch year for this hull, so we did not record a launch year.
Two sources describe the vessel as twin-masted, but neither states whether it sails under its own canvas or is towed, so propulsion is not recorded.
We did not record departure days. The aggregator publishes Sunday and Monday departures from Esna and Friday from Aswan, but the operator publishes no weekly pattern, and we require the operator as the source for that field.
We did not record an operating season. The operator publishes a May to September summer programme at https://lazulinil.com/les-croisieres/nos-croisieres-estivales/, but that is one product, not the full sailing season, and it names no individual boats. Timbuktu Travel lists a generic Lazuli Dahabiya with six rooms but does not name Luxor, so that listing was not used.
