Nuun

Dahabiya. Operated by Ashranda Boutique Hotels & Cruises.

Not verified as sailing  checked 12 Sep 2026

We have not confirmed that this vessel is currently in service. That is a statement about our checking, not a claim that it has stopped.

Our view

comfortable

Nuun is a real, bookable and inexpensive way onto a dahabiya, sold through agents rather than by its owner. The operator publishes almost nothing about the boat itself, which means every figure on this page came from a reseller and none of it is confirmed by whoever runs it. Ask for a deck plan and a current guest photograph before you pay, because the newest review anyone could find dates from January 2024.

Who it suits

  • Travellers who want a dahabiya at the lower end of the price range
  • Anyone happy to join a shared departure rather than charter
  • Guests who want a choice of three, four or seven nights

Who it does not suit

  • Anyone who wants facts about the boat, the operator publishes nothing per hull, no deck plan, no fact sheet, no length and no crew count
  • Travellers with children, the agents contradict each other on child pricing and no source states a minimum age
  • Anyone who needs current evidence that it sails, the newest review anywhere is from January 2024
  • Guests who want to know how many people will be aboard, two agents say a maximum of twelve and eight rooms would normally sleep sixteen
  • Anyone expecting exclusive use, the minimum cabin counts the agents quote are thresholds to guarantee a departure, not charter terms
Service style
Small sailing boat sold as a shared departure through volume agents rather than direct, with an Egyptologist and entrance fees included.
The cabin we would book
One of the two suites. The operator publishes nothing that distinguishes the six cabins from each other, so the suite is the only choice on the record.
Nearest alternative: Nuut
The two are sold as a pair and no source separates them. Every specification, itinerary and price published anywhere covers both, so choosing between them is not currently possible on published information. See its record →
Everything in this box is opinion, not a sourced fact, and we say what it rests on: desk research only, by Christoph Paterok, 12 September 2026. Nobody here has sailed this vessel. Read it as a careful reading of the published record, which is what it is.
Published rate
$377 per person, per night
Up to $635, per person, per night.

Shown in the currency the operator published it in, on the basis the operator sells it on. We do not convert currencies and we do not divide a package total into a nightly rate, because both would produce a number nobody quoted. See how this compares on the rates page.

What we could not establish

Every empty cell above has a reason. These are the reasons for this vessel, written down at the time the record was made, including the places where published sources contradict each other.

Vuut and Nuut are the same boat. The operator's own page at the address containing the spelling /nuun-and-vuut-dahabyas/ uses "Vuut", but that page is titled "Nuun and Nuut Dahabiyas Features" and the /nuun/ page names the pair Nuun and Nuut. Every third party consulted calls the pair Nuun and Nuut. Vuut appears to be a typo in the page address, not a separate hull.

Nothing on ashranda.com is stated per boat. Every fact published there, including the details used to establish air conditioning and wi-fi, covers the pair as a unit, so those details are assumed to apply to Nuun. The same assumption, and the same caveat, applies to Nuut.

The guest capacity is not published. Maxim Tours and Memphis Tours both mention a maximum of 12 persons, but both frame that figure as a small group tour size rather than a berth count. Six cabins plus two suites would normally sleep 16. Neither figure is safe to publish.

The operator publishes no departure pattern. Egypt Time Travel states that the three-night Aswan departure runs every Thursday and the four-night Esna departure every Monday. Egypt Tours Plus states that the seven-night Luxor round trip runs every Thursday. Two different cruises both assigned to Thursday may reflect a copy error at one of those sellers.

No charter terms were found. Several agents state that a four-night cruise requires at least two double cabins booked, a three-night cruise requires at least three cabins, and a seven-night cruise requires at least one double suite. Those are minimums to guarantee a place on a shared departure, not terms for exclusive use of the boat. No whole-boat price and no charter statement appears anywhere. Memphis Tours presents the boat as a shared departure.

No minimum age is stated by any source. Child pricing contradicts itself between sellers. Memphis Tours UK states that children under four travel free, that a maximum of one child is permitted, and that children aged four to eleven pay fifty per cent of the adult fare. Egypt Time Travel states that children aged zero to one travel free, that children aged two to five pay twenty-five per cent of the adult fare, and that children aged six to eleven pay fifty per cent.

No source we read gives the flag or registration, launch year, refit year, crew count, length, deck count, propulsion type, presence of a pool or jacuzzi, or any accessibility statement for this hull. The operator site carries no deck plan and no fact sheet. memphistours.com returns a 403 error to automated retrieval; memphistours.co.uk serves the same content and was used in its place.
